Cast iron trafficable lids are metal covers, designed to block the entrances to manhole access. These lids can be used in a wide range of projects such as stormwater, sewage or drainage projects. They are made up of cast iron which has a relatively low melting point and is resistant to deformation. They are highly durable, due to the round shape. Cast iron access lids are ideal for a wide range of applications for civil and commercial use.
Liners: 600mm – 2250mm diameter
Class A,B,C,D,E and G available
Cast iron, solid access lids that are designed for trafficable areas to prevent people and objects, such as trash or debris from falling into pits or drains. Manhole access covers are also effective in preventing the stench of sewage and drainages from spreading around.
Since cast iron is well-known for its high durability and capacity to withstand high pressure, it can be used for high traffic areas. Roads and highways with traffic travelling at the speed of more than 20km/hr are best suited for this application.
These highly durable cast iron access covers are super resistant to heavy loads, thus they can be fitted into heavy traffic areas, such as roads and highways. Since cast iron is a strong metal, and the lid is round in shape, the lid can maintain its shape for longer duration and does not require constant replacement. Even in the case of distortion, they can be restored back to their original shape.
The heaviness of these solid, cast-iron access lids makes them difficult to be stolen.
Their weight and round shape help them stay firmly in place over manhole openings without the risk of dislodging even with heavy traffic passing over it.
Cast-iron lids are resistant to corrosion and high heat, therefore they can bend but not break.
Our trafficable cast-iron access lids are designed as per Australian standards. They can be custom-built in required sizes to suit different applications for business and civil constructions.
