Side inlet drains are located adjacent to the curb on pavements which connect to the drainage system underground. The openings for the side entry inlet need to be covered to prevent accidents and children, animals, or large objects from falling into the drain. Side inlet covers are designed to keep the top of the frame covered while the side is left open to drain stormwater from the curb.
Application
The inlet covers are installed over stormwater side entry to drain rainwater from the streets. They cover the top part of the inlets while the side entries stay open. This prevents clogging of the drains by stopping large debris and trash from entering into the drainage system.
The inlet connects to a larger culvert which forms an underground drainage network. Therefore, to avoid complications, it is necessary to keep the side entry inlets covered.
Benefits
Since the side entry cover is designed to block entrance in the top area while keeping the sides open, the inlet provides proper drainage of water without compromising safety. Side entry covers are suitable for different traffic conditions and suit most kerb designs. These cost-effective covers are manufactured for long term durability.
Dallcon provides readymade side entry inlet covers, however, customised products can be made available on request to suit various applications. For all inquiries, call us at 1300 325 526 or email at sales@dallcon.com today.
