Retaining & Earth Retention

Page 1 of 21 2

Some projects require a significant amount of earth and civil works done before the building of infrastructure can begin on the site. Earth retention systems play a critical role in shoring up and stabilising the surrounding soil so that it doesn’t erode and become unstable both whilst construction is underway and throughout the life of the infrastructure being built on it. Since water is one of the most common reasons for retaining walls to fail, the wall must have good drainage, as water can accumulate behind the walls. Earth retention systems can be installed permanently or temporarily during construction activities with a variety of techniques depending on the situation. Concrete blocks have the advantage of being an easy-to-deliver component-sized unit ideal for retaining wall projects of different shapes and sizes. Retaining walls offer the advantage of concrete and masonry bricks, which are modular and interlocking to facilitate use.
